Corbin Young serves as the Multi-Area Director of West Texas. In West Texas alone, FCA currently has 65 staff serving 340,285 athletes and 37,328 coaches competing on and off campuses at 25 colleges, 327 high schools, 329 middle schools, and countless youth leagues and clubs in 100 counties around Abilene, Amarillo, El Paso, Lubbock, Midland, Odessa, and San Angelo.
Since 2010, Corbin Young has served with FCA in a variety of roles all across West Texas. Straight out of college, he started as a Big Country Area Rep in Brownwood. In 2013, he transitioned to Midland/Odessa as the Permian Basin Area Director. In 2017, he moved to Lubbock as the College Director at Texas Tech University. In 2022, he accepted a state leadership role as the Texas Regional Director of Ministry Advancement. Additionally, Corbin is an ordained minister and has previously served bi-vocationally as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church of Tarzan, Texas. He also served at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church in Brownwood and FBC Humboldt in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Corbin is originally from Paradise, Texas. He received both his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Theology and Ministry from Howard Payne University. As a student-athlete at HPU, Corbin was an ASC all-conference football player, Team Captain, Olympic Weightlifting Collegiate Nationals qualifier, and FCA Leader. Through FCA Bible study, Corbin met his wife, Kandace, who was also a Team Captain for Tennis.
Kandace and Corbin married in 2011 and are currently raising their 4 children in Ropesville, right outside of Lubbock. Corbin continues to serve locally as a Chaplain at Texas Tech primarily with the Red Raider football team. Kandace also serves the Texas Tech Football Coaches Wives Bible study. When the Youngs are not attending Texas Tech games or playing and coaching sports themselves, they enjoy spending their free time outdoors hunting and fishing together.
